A police officer caught taking a bribe of 100,000 soms
In the Talas region, a senior investigator of the local criminal police, known by the initials T.R.Z., was arrested on charges of extortion. This information was provided by the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).
The investigation revealed that T.R.Z. used his official position to pressure a citizen, T.N.T., systematically demanding money from him under the threat of criminal prosecution.
T.R.Z. was arrested on February 21, 2026, during joint operations by GKNB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD), when he received part of the extorted amount of 100,000 soms.
At present, the detainee has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the Talas police department, and investigative actions are ongoing to identify other officials involved in the case.
