On February 25, the police department of the Ak-Suu district became aware that a minor, born in 2009, is the daughter of a resident of the village of Ak-Suu, M.A., born in 1985, and is 16 weeks pregnant. This information was provided by the press service of the regional police.
The fact was recorded in the Journal of Information Accounting of the Ak-Suu district police department, and a preliminary investigation was initiated.
Investigative authorities questioned the 17-year-old girl; however, her mother, M.A., born in 1985, refused to act as her legal representative. Therefore, the questioning of the minor was conducted with the participation of a representative from the district department for the protection of family and children.
On the same day, around 21:00, M.A. left the house, stating that she was going to the store. According to preliminary data, the woman committed self-immolation, triggered by intense distress over her daughter's pregnancy.
She was urgently transported to the Issyk-Kul regional hospital, where, unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries from the burns.
A forensic medical examination has been appointed, and the preliminary investigation into this case is ongoing.
