“I built a business for 30 years, and it was destroyed in less than 3 years”
Sharshembek Abdykerimov, the founder of the 'AYU' holding company, made serious accusations against the former head of the GKNB department in Bishkek, Eldar Jakypbekov. He shared his grievances on social media.
Abdykerimov claims that Jakypbekov's actions led to the catastrophe of his long-standing business, which contributed significant funds to the state budget. Additionally, he reported serious health issues, noting that he underwent five surgical operations and a stroke, which, according to him, affected his heart health.
“When you are on the brink of life and death, your perception of everything changes. I built a business over 30 years and provided jobs for thousands of people, and all of this was destroyed in less than three years,” the entrepreneur expressed his bitterness.
It is worth reminding that in September of last year, a criminal case was initiated against Abdykerimov by the GKNB on charges of “financing an organized criminal group,” resulting in the confiscation of his assets worth 10 billion soms. After October 2020, Abdykerimov left Kyrgyzstan and is currently wanted internationally.
Eldar Jakypbekov, the former head of the GKNB department in Bishkek, was removed from his position in February 2026 and arrested on suspicion of corrupt activities. The investigation is being conducted by the Military Prosecutor's Office.
