A tragedy occurred in Uzgen: a two-month-old infant died after undergoing hijama. According to Bermet Masadykova, the director of the Uzgen Center for General Medical Practice, the child was brought to the intensive care unit in very serious condition from the village of Ak-Zhar in the Kara-Shoro ayil okmotu. The cause of death, according to her information, was significant blood loss.
“The parents turned to a folk healer, where the child had incisions made on his back. When he was admitted to the hospital, the hemoglobin level was extremely low — only 45. The baby's condition was critical due to severe bleeding. Unfortunately, despite all efforts, we could not save him, and he passed away in the morning,” she said. Masadykova also noted that the police had been notified about the incident.
The press secretary of the Osh regional police department, Talaybek Baytikov, confirmed the information about the registration of this incident and the initiation of investigative actions.
“Based on the collection of materials and conducting an examination, a legal assessment will be given to the actions of those involved in the infant's death,” he added.
