According to Burkhanov, the incident took place in April 2025, and all eight defendants were found guilty in court.

The statement also notes that Uzbek diplomatic institutions and relevant authorities are working to protect the rights of citizens and thoroughly investigate the situation.

The mass brawl occurred at a gas station, resulting in the deaths of two citizens of Uzbekistan: one died on the spot from a stab wound, while the other fell into a coma and died in the hospital.

Earlier, Uzbek diplomats held a meeting with the leadership of the Dubai Criminal Investigation Department.

In addition, the UAE authorities expressed concern about the rising offenses involving citizens of Uzbekistan abroad, which could negatively affect the visa-free regime between the two countries.
