Environmental supervision officials discovered a case of illegal keeping of a golden eagle in the Kara-Kulja district of Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision.

On January 27, the Osh regional department of the Environmental Supervision Service received information about the violation. During an operational investigation conducted jointly with the "Bars-2" group, inspectors identified who was keeping the bird.

The golden eagle, which is a rare species and listed in the Red Book of the Kyrgyz Republic, was being kept in captivity in the home of a local resident. Thanks to the joint efforts of government agencies and ecologists from the NABU organization, the predator was returned to its natural habitat.
