Khalisa, a resident of the village of Panfilov in the Panfilov district of the Chuy region, earned 150,000 soms in two months by selling seedlings of fruit trees and junipers.

A Turmush correspondent learned about her business. Khalisa, who lives in the village of Panfilov in the Kurama ayil district, conducts her activities along the Bishkek — Chaldovar road, where she sells a variety of seedlings on a small plot of land.

“I have been engaged in gardening for 25 years and constantly offer various seedlings for sale. Recently, I have had many customers,” she shared.

Seedlings of fruit-bearing apple trees, cherries, apricots, and walnuts are sold at prices ranging from 250 to 350 soms per unit. The price for junipers depends on their age and height: a one-year-old seedling 50 cm tall costs 500 soms, a two-year-old seedling from 1 to 1.5 meters costs 1,000 soms, while mature seedlings 6 meters tall, aged 4 to 6 years, can be purchased for 6,000 soms.

The process of growing seedlings and their subsequent sale requires significant effort. Khalisa pays attention to each customer, explaining the characteristics of the plants and the methods of planting them.

“I have many seedlings, but not all of them find buyers. The rest I move to my plot to replant and prepare for the next year. In March and April, I manage to earn 150,000 soms,” she added.
