Aibek Shamenov awarded Batken athletes for their high achievements

In the Batken region, a meeting took place where the authorized representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Aibek Shamenov, rewarded outstanding female athletes. He met with Zarina Asanova, a student of BatGU and a member of the Kyzyl-Kiy City Children's and Youth Sports School.

Shamenov also discussed the achievements of coach Zhenishbek Toktonazarov, who is the mentor of Begayim Akbalaeva, representing the Kyrgyzstan national team in alysh kurash and residing in the village of Birlik in the Kadamjai district.

The head of the region expressed his appreciation to the athletes for their achievements, emphasizing that they proudly represent the country and the Batken region. He presented them with gifts and noted that their successes serve as an inspiration for the youth, encouraging them to engage in sports and lead an active lifestyle.

Zarina Asanova, a deserved five-time champion of Kyrgyzstan, performed brilliantly on the international stage last year. She took 3rd place at the World Boxing Cup in Montenegro in the weight category up to 70 kg. Additionally, at the Asian Championship in Colombo (Sri Lanka), she became second, winning a silver medal, and in Thailand, she took 3rd place, winning a gold medal at the Kyrgyzstan Championship.

Begayim Akbalaeva, another outstanding athlete from the Batken region, took 1st place in Kyrgyz wrestling among girls at the republican "Manas" games in 2025. At the Kyrgyzstan Championship in classical wrestling in the weight category up to 60 kg, she also became first, defending the honor of the region. Currently, Begayim is participating in competitions abroad, so her award was handed over to her coach.
