The year 2026 will be significant for Kyrgyzstan in the context of sports development and event tourism. Major international competitions are planned in the country, including the Asian Wrestling Championship and the Central Asia Sailing Championship, which will take place on Lake Issyk-Kul. The World Nomad Games are also expected.
These plans were announced at a meeting of the board of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, where Edil Baisalov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, spoke.
Instructions were also given to expedite the establishment of the state enterprise "Kyrgyz Center for Sports and Health Medicine," enhance security at mass sporting events, and promote digitalization in the field of sports services. The Kyrgyz State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports has been tasked with reviewing its programs and increasing the training of specialists in new disciplines.
