Kyrgyzstan athletes won 3 medals on the first day of the ranking tournament in Albania

On the first day of the ranking tournament in wrestling taking place in Albania, Kyrgyz athletes won three medals.

The tournament, which is the second in the ranking calendar for 2026, began on February 25 in the capital of the country, Tirana.

During the first day of competition, six sets of medals were contested, with eight wrestlers from Kyrgyzstan participating. It should be noted that Bilol Sharip uulu was registered but could not compete due to injury.

Ernazar Akmataliev won the gold medal in the 70 kg weight category, while Zalkarbek Tabaldiev secured bronze in the same weight. In the 74 kg category, Orozobek Toktomambetov won the silver medal, having lost to an opponent from Iran in the final.

Unfortunately, Abdumalik Karachov (57 kg), Bekzat Almaz uulu (61 kg), Öskönbay Abdisamatov (65 kg), Rustamzhan Kakharo (70 kg), and Adilet Akmatbekov (74 kg) were unable to win medals.
