The wrestler from Kyrgyzstan, Orozobek Toktomambetov, became the silver medalist of the international tournament MUHAMET MALO-2026, which is taking place in the Albanian capital, Tirana, in the category up to 74 kg.
According to the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, his performance began in the 1/8 finals, where he won against the Azerbaijani wrestler Kanan Heybatov with a score of 3:1.
In the next round, the 1/4 finals, Toktomambetov confidently defeated the American Quincy Monday with a score of 5:1, thus securing his place in the semifinals.
The semifinal match was against the Georgian Giorgi Elbakidze, in which the Kyrgyzstani also emerged victorious, finishing the bout with a score of 2:0 and guaranteeing himself a spot in the final.
However, in the decisive match, Toktomambetov lost to the Iranian wrestler Yones Aliakbar Emami, finishing the encounter with a score of 0:5 and winning the silver medal of the tournament.
It is worth noting that the MUHAMET MALO-2026 tournament in Tirana will last until March 1.
