The competition took place on February 25, where Akmataliev competed in the weight category up to 70 kg and took first place.
In his first match of the tournament, he won against Ibrahim Ibrahimov, who is the current European champion in the weight category up to 65 kg.
After the match, Ibrahimov shared his impressions with journalist Vladislav Abdusalamov.
“The score was 3:0, everything was going well. We worked hard in training. The opponent is good, experienced. Everything was fine, but in the end, I made a mistake. I tried to push him off the mat and ended up giving away two points. But I have other goals ahead — the World Championship and the Russian Championship. I’m doing this for their achievement. These are just tournaments where you can learn from your mistakes,” noted Ibrahimov.
