The Mongolian rock band THE HU, known for their innovations, continues to amaze the world by releasing a new single 'The Real You' on January 23 (Friday) through the label Better Noise Music. This was reported by MiddleAsianNews.
In this piece, they emphasize the influence of Western music, creating a powerful and atmospheric sound infused with a driving rhythm and somber vocals.
The track showcases their unique "hunnu-rock" style, which combines traditional Mongolian instruments and throat singing with modern rock sounds, elevating their music to a new level.
'The Real You' was produced by Dashka (Dashdondog Bayarmagnai) and mixed by renowned sound engineer and musician Chris Lord-Alge, a five-time Grammy Award winner. The single is available on all digital platforms, and the music video can be viewed below.
"This single is a precursor to our new album," shared Temka, who plays the tovshuur and does throat singing in THE HU. "While our third album will feature traditional compositions with our characteristic rhythm, there will be few fast and energetic tracks like this one. We wrote this song inspired by our ancestors who raced on horseback through picturesque landscapes. Listen to this song to express your hidden feelings and feel the powerful energy we convey. Enjoy!"
In 'The Real You', listeners are encouraged to focus on themselves and not judge others, striving for self-improvement.
The lyrics are based on a famous Mongolian proverb: "Өөрийн толгой дээрх бухлыг харахгүй байж Өрөөлийн толгой дээрх өвсийг харах" ("Don't worry about what someone else has on their head; worry about what you lack"). 'The Real You' is performed in Mongolian, but its powerful words convey deep emotions and a message that prompts listeners to reflect: "Will you continue to slander, manipulate, threaten, and insult? / Can you keep enduring, fearing, and hiding?"
THE HU enthusiastically presents Mongolian music on the international stage. In November 2022, the band became the first rock/metal group to receive the UNESCO "Artist for Peace" award, presented by UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay in Paris, France. Previous laureates include names like Celine Dion, Shirley Bassey, and Sarah Brightman. With over 961 million streams and 483 million video views, as well as sold-out tours and prestigious awards, THE HU has established itself as one of the leading bands in the world.
This summer, on July 11, THE HU will perform at Knebworth Park in the UK alongside IRON MAIDEN and other bands such as THE DARKNESS and AIRBOURNE as part of the "Run For Your Lives" tour. They will also participate in Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson's American tour "Freaks On Parade," which kicks off on August 20 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
