As a result of the livestock census conducted at the end of 2025, it was established that Bayarmagnai Erdene, recognized as the best livestock breeder of the Mongolian People's Republic and a sports master in the training of wild animals from the Erdene sum of the Dornogovi province, owns 1004 camels. This information is reported by MiddleAsianNews.
Since 1979, Bayarmagnai has been engaged in animal husbandry; however, he switched to breeding camels only in the 1990s when, after privatization, he managed to acquire his first batch of over 20 camels.

Today, his herd includes more than 300 female camels, of which over 40 are used for milking. The products obtained from the camels, including the traditional Mongolian sour milk drink khormog (essentially similar to kumis, but made from camel milk), are processed and supplied to the market.
According to the results of 2025, the total number of livestock in Mongolia is 5.1 million horses (an increase of 9.5%), 5.4 million head of cattle (an increase of 7.2%), 501.3 thousand camels (an increase of 4.3%), 23.9 million sheep (a decrease of 2.6%), and 23.2 million goats (an increase of 1.1%).
