The Virus Weightlifting Series 1 (American Open Series 1) competition took place from March 5 to 8 in Columbus, Ohio, as part of the famous Arnold Sports Festival, which was founded by Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1989.
In the under 110 kg category, 108 athletes participated, including Bekdolot Rasulbekov from Kyrgyzstan. He demonstrated an excellent result: he lifted 165 kg in the snatch and 210 kg in the clean and jerk. A total weight of 375 kg secured him first place and a gold medal, as well as two small gold medals for individual achievements in the snatch and clean and jerk.
Emil Moldodosov, competing in the under 79 kg category with 102 participants, also showed impressive results. He lifted 140 kg in the snatch, earning him a small gold medal, and his clean and jerk result was 162 kg.
A total weight of 302 kg allowed Moldodosov to take first place and win a gold medal.
Thus, Kyrgyz athletes won five gold medals at the tournament — two main and three small.
