Illusionist Emil Kio Has Died

According to Meduza, Emil Kio, the renowned illusionist, passed away at the age of 87.

His full name was Emil Emilievich Renard-Kio. He was the son of the Soviet circus performer Emil Teodorovich Renard-Kio, both of whom performed under the name Emil Kio.

As his father's assistant, Emil Kio began performing in 1961. Later, he founded his own illusion show and toured various countries.

He also became famous as the author of the column "Beyond the Illusion," which he hosted in the magazine "Young Technician" from 1976 to 1992, sharing the secrets of magic tricks.

From 1991 to 2016, Kio served as the chairman of the Union of Circus Workers of Russia.
