During her speech at the People's Kurultai, Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva drew a parallel between the transition to a 12-year education system and family conflicts during renovations. According to her, the shift to a new educational model was proposed by President Sadyr Japarov, who noted that his own experience with his son in Europe showed that the diploma obtained under the old system did not meet international standards. Kendirbaeva mentioned that the first year was particularly challenging, as it required the development of new educational standards and teaching materials. "We must adapt to the modern demands of the labor market, where competition is fierce, and employers select the best specialists," she emphasized, adding that the changes affected the first, second, fifth, and seventh grades. According to the minister, teachers of these grades underwent special training, and new textbooks will begin to be released in February 2024. "We have already published nearly 4 million copies, and in 2025, it is planned to allocate 856 million soms for the creation of textbooks in the exact sciences," she noted, also mentioning a competition for writing textbooks in the Kyrgyz language, history, and geography. Kendirbaeva acknowledged that the current year has been difficult not only in terms of material and technical support but also emotionally due to criticism from society. "Many express dissatisfaction with the lack of textbooks and the large number of children in classrooms, comparing it to the Soviet system, which, although it had its advantages, is no longer relevant," she added. The minister pointed out that the modern education system must take into account state and family values. "Our goal is to provide children with quality knowledge, adapting them to changing conditions," she concluded, emphasizing that the difference in approaches to education is now significant, and parents are actively participating in the educational process by providing children with access to technology.
