Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, shared his first impressions after testing the new "Ferrari SF-26" car. The testing took place at the Italian team's factory track in Fiorano.
The British driver attended the official presentation of the new model alongside his new teammate Charles Leclerc. Hamilton noted that he feels an unusual excitement at the start of this new chapter in his career. According to him, the move to "Scuderia" has provided him with an opportunity for a complete reboot and the need to adapt to new workflows within the team.
Team principal Frederic Vasseur emphasized that the "SF-26" symbolizes the beginning of a "new era" for Ferrari. In Maranello, they hope that this car will help the team resume its fight for the title after a disappointing last season.
Hamilton also added that the 2026 championship will be one of the most significant challenges in his career due to radical changes in the technical regulations. The new rules provide for an equal distribution of power between the internal combustion engine and the electric part of the hybrid unit.
Full preseason testing of the "Ferrari SF-26" will begin next week in Barcelona, where all championship participants will start their final preparations for the resumption of the 2026 World Championship.
