The honor of the country at the competition was defended by national team member and international class sports master Tömülen Khadbaatar, who won the first medal for Mongolia. He became the silver medalist in the individual time trial over a distance of 24.6 km among athletes under 23 years old, finishing with a time of 30 minutes and 22.88 seconds. This achievement marked his second silver medal at the Asian Cycling Championships in his career.
