
Since the beginning of the epidemiological season, Kazakhstan has registered 3,332,252 cases of ARVI, which is 10% less than in the same period last year, according to information from the Ministry of Health.
Additionally, 3,018 cases of laboratory-confirmed influenza have been identified in the country. Of these, 2,958 cases were caused by the influenza A (H3N2) virus, 53 cases by the A (H1N1) virus, and 7 cases by the influenza B virus. Currently, 2,272,739 people have been vaccinated against influenza, which is 11.13% of the total population, in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
The Ministry of Health assures that educational institutions are operating as usual, as the level of illness does not exceed 20% among students in classes.
However, the number of measles cases continues to rise in the country.
"Diseases have been registered in 19 regions, except for the city of Shymkent. 80% of cases involve unvaccinated individuals, among whom 58% are children who did not receive the vaccine due to parental refusal," the Ministry of Health stated, without providing new statistical data.
As of February 5, 1,951 cases of measles have been identified in Kazakhstan in the first month of 2026. The highest number of cases has been recorded in Astana, Almaty, as well as in the Zhambyl and Almaty regions.
