The resolution was adopted on February 13 during an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, where the results of 2025 were also summarized. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.
According to the resolution, the responsibility for implementing the plan will be divided between central and local authorities. The khyakimliks of Ashgabat and Arkadag, as well as various ministries and departments, will be required to ensure the planting of 1.5 million seedlings, while the remaining 1.5 million will be planted by the khyakimliks of the velayats.
An important aspect of the resolution is the emphasis on the quality of work. All seedlings of fruit trees and grapes must be planted in specially designated areas, adhering to species classification. Drip irrigation will be used for watering — one of the most efficient ways to use water.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection is responsible for coordinating the supply of planting material and monitoring the execution of the work. It must provide all interested organizations with the necessary number of three-year-old tree and vine seedlings.
At the extended government meeting, the appointment of a new Minister of Environmental Protection, Serdar Berdymukhamedov, was also announced.
