On the eastern slope of the Umm-Irak plateau, stretching over 100 meters, images of animals, hunting scenes, people with weapons, as well as various symbols and inscriptions in Arabic and Nabataean languages were found. These images date back to both prehistoric and later periods, covering a timeframe from 10,000 to 5,500 years ago.
Experts emphasize that this discovery provides "new information about the civilizations that have consistently existed on the Sinai Peninsula." The Umm-Irak plateau, as archaeologists point out, has historically served as a site for observation, gathering, and resting for various peoples over the millennia.
