According to information provided by "Ukrainska Pravda," Halushchenko was removed from a train. According to the source, border guards acted at the request of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), which were seeking information about his intentions to leave the country.
NABU representatives confirmed the fact of Halushchenko's detention. "Today, during an attempt to cross the state border, NABU detectives detained the former Minister of Energy as part of the investigation into the 'Midas' case," the official statement said.
Halushchenko was appointed Minister of Energy in April 2021, and in July 2025 he transitioned to the position of Minister of Justice. After his departure, the Ministry of Energy was headed by Svitlana Hrynchuk. In November 2025, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dismissed both amid a corruption scandal involving Ukrainian "Energoatom" and businessman Timur Mindich. As part of the "Midas" operation, anti-corruption authorities conducted searches, including at Halushchenko's premises.
