According to law enforcement, the shooter was 56-year-old Robert Dorgan, also known as Robert Esposito, who, according to some reports, also used a female name.
The incident occurred at the arena where a match was scheduled between the hockey teams of Coventry and Blackstone Valley. As a result of the shooting, three people were killed, and three others were hospitalized in serious condition.
Among the victims was the mother of the suspect's son, as well as her relative, who later died in the hospital from injuries sustained. Dorgan reportedly committed suicide at the scene.
The reasons that led to this tragic incident are still unknown, and the police continue their investigation.
