The Ministry of Education also reminded that starting from January 1, 2026, a new Labor Code came into effect, which provides for two long periods of non-working public holidays - from January 1 to January 6 and from May 1 to May 8. Additionally, January 7, May 5, and May 9 are recognized as official public holidays. If January 10-11 or May 10-11 coincide with weekends, the winter and May breaks could actually extend up to 12 calendar days.
