According to an internal Pentagon document, the United States intends to carry out a military operation against Iran that will last at least 100 days, extending into September. Politico reports that the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has requested additional military intelligence personnel to support its operations.

The State Department is also allocating resources for the evacuation of American citizens in the Middle East, while the Pentagon is increasing the number of troops involved in intelligence gathering. These measures indicate that the U.S. administration was not fully prepared for the large-scale conflict it is facing, Politico notes.

On February 28, Israel and the U.S. conducted strikes against Iran. Donald Trump announced his intention to destroy the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic.

In response, Iran began attacking territories in Israel and other Middle Eastern countries where U.S. military bases and facilities are located. Strikes were carried out on Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai (UAE), as well as Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

As a result of the U.S.-Israeli attack, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed, and his wife Mansoureh Khodjasteh died from her injuries.

Iran declared jihad against the U.S. and Israel, emphasizing that negotiations will not be held.

The conflict in the Middle East is impacting the global situation, including in Kyrgyzstan. Thousands of tourists are stranded in the UAE due to the conflict. Phone numbers for embassies and consulates for Kyrgyz citizens abroad can be found here.
