The new internet resource Cost of the Iran War ("Стоимость войны в Иране") provides up-to-date information on the expenses of the United States for military actions against Iran.

The site accounts for a wide range of expenses, including the maintenance of military personnel, ships and aircraft deployed in the region, fuel costs, logistics, armaments, as well as cyber and space support. Additionally, the resource tracks losses among American armed forces.

To date, the total amount of expenses has reached nearly $2 billion. According to the provided data, military actions cost the U.S. about $4,400 every second.

Expenses for maintaining naval forces range from $15.7 to $21.5 million per day, while operational costs amount to about $220 million daily. In the early days of the operation, the authors of the site estimate that expenses reached $380 million per day, then decreased to $220 million, and after the tenth day — to $155 million.

Furthermore, the site keeps track of the missiles and bombs used, as well as destroyed equipment. According to the information, the loss of three aircraft cost $270 million, while strikes against Iran amounted to an additional $538 million.

The calculations include expenses for military personnel (up to $40 million per day with the deployment of about 50,000 soldiers), fleet and aviation (approximately $70 million per day), as well as overhead costs. Losses of equipment and the use of expensive missiles are accounted for separately.

The authors of the project emphasize that the actual costs for replenishing ammunition may exceed the estimated figures by 10-20%. Long-term expenses for veteran medical care, economic losses, and impacts on energy markets are not included in the total amount.

Among the sources of information are materials from the U.S. Department of Defense, reports from CBO and GAO, data from TRANSCOM and DLA Energy, publications from Defense News, the Costs of War project at Brown University, as well as studies from the Stimson Center and SIPRI.

On February 28, Israel and the U.S. conducted strikes against Iran. Donald Trump announced the intention to destroy the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic.

In response, Iran began attacking territories in Israel and other Middle Eastern countries where American military bases are located. Strikes were carried out against Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai (UAE), as well as Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

As a result of the U.S.-Israeli attack, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed, and shortly thereafter, his wife, Mansure Khojasteh, died from her injuries.

According to Donald Trump, military actions in Iran will last about four weeks. Iran, for its part, declared jihad against the U.S. and Israel, emphasizing that there will be no negotiations.

The conflict in the Middle East is affecting the global situation, including in Kyrgyzstan. Currently, thousands of tourists are stranded in the UAE due to the conflict. Contact phone numbers for embassies and consulates for citizens of Kyrgyzstan abroad can be found here.
