At the airshow in Singapore, the Brazilian company Embraer announced the delivery of the latest C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft for the Uzbekistan Air Force. These aircraft will be the first of their kind in Central Asia.
The primary purpose of these aircraft will be transport and humanitarian missions, significantly increasing the potential of the Uzbek Air Force, as stated in the official announcement.
The C-390 Millennium is a modern military transport aircraft capable of carrying up to 26 tons of cargo, exceeding the capabilities of other similar models. It also features a high speed of 470 knots and a considerable flight range.
This multifunctional aircraft can perform a variety of tasks, including troop and cargo transport, air dropping, medical evacuation, search and rescue operations, as well as firefighting and humanitarian actions. The C-390 Millennium is capable of taking off and landing on temporary and unpaved runways.
With air-to-air refueling capabilities, this aircraft, known as the KC-390, can function both as a refueler and a receiver.
Moreover, the "Millennium" is fully NATO compatible and suitable for Agile Combat Employment (ACE), as emphasized in the announcement.
The air forces of Brazil, Portugal, Hungary, South Korea, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Slovakia, and Lithuania have already chosen the C-390 Millennium as their primary transport vehicle.
Currently, the Uzbekistan Air Force operates military aircraft such as the Il-76 and CASA C-295.
