In Kyrgyzstan, the possibility of receiving aircraft at regional airfields is largely determined by the width and length of the runways, as well as the conditions of their operation. This was stated by the director of the State Agency for Civil Aviation under the Cabinet of Ministers, Daniyar Bostонов, in an interview with the radio.

According to Bostонов, the average length of runways at assigned airfields is approximately 1,800 meters. However, in mountainous conditions, this length is not equivalent to a similar runway on flat terrain. "For mountain airfields, 1,800 meters is not equivalent to 1,800 meters on the plain. The runways are located at altitude, which significantly affects the ability to receive aircraft," he emphasized.

Currently, Bombardier Q400 aircraft owned by the state airline Asman Airlines, as well as RG85 type aircraft, can land at such airfields, but it is not possible at all of them.

Furthermore, Bostонов noted that the repair and restoration of runways at airports in Kyrgyzstan were carried out taking into account the technical specifications of the Bombardier Q400. At the same time, there are other types of small aircraft in the global aviation community that can also operate in such conditions.

He added that, in addition to runway length, other important factors such as the availability of navigation equipment and weather conditions also affect the ability to receive aircraft.
