At the international airport "Manas," the implementation of a high-tech Category III (CAT III) light signaling system is ongoing. This step is crucial for enhancing the safety of air transportation and optimizing airport operations, as reported by representatives of the OJSC "International Airports of Kyrgyzstan."
The CAT III system will enable the acceptance and dispatch of aircraft even in conditions of heavy fog and poor visibility, significantly reducing the likelihood of delays or cancellations of flights, as well as increasing the reliability of air transportation, the company noted.
The installation of this equipment is being carried out in accordance with international civil aviation standards, which will contribute to the further modernization of the "Manas" airport infrastructure.
However, the final decision on landing in each specific case will remain with the aircraft crew, who will take into account the actual weather conditions and the operational capabilities of the aircraft.
In December of last year, at the "Manas" airport, as well as at other airports in the country, many flights were canceled or postponed due to dense fog caused by poor visibility on the runway.
