For this, a special system is being installed
According to the press service of Manas International Airport, work is currently underway to implement modern equipment for the Category III (CAT III) lighting system. This innovation aims to improve the safety of air transportation and the reliability of airport operations.
“The CAT III system will enable the reception and dispatch of aircraft even in conditions of heavy fog and poor visibility, significantly reducing the likelihood of delays and cancellations, as well as enhancing the stability of air traffic. However, the final decision on landing in each specific case remains with the crew, taking into account the actual weather and the characteristics of the aircraft,” the press service noted.
In addition, representatives of the press service added that the installation of the new lighting equipment is being carried out in accordance with international civil aviation standards and is part of the program for further modernization of Manas Airport.
