Over the past two years, repairs have been carried out on 11 airports and airfields in Kyrgyzstan, both international and domestic. This was reported by the director of the State Agency for Civil Aviation under the Cabinet of Ministers, Daniyar Bostонов, on the radio.
According to Bostонов, the renovation work at the airports in Karakol and Naryn has been completed. At the same time, the reconstruction of terminals at the Manas and Tamchy airports, located on Issyk-Kul, is ongoing.
He also noted that a new international airport is being built in Manas. This project aims to meet modern international standards and includes integration with the railway infrastructure connecting China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
In addition, a new air point for flights from China has been opened in the south of the country. Previously, only one point, located in the Karakol area, had this capability.
“This innovation allows aircraft to land without an oxygen system and provides more flexible management of the country’s airspace,” Bostонов added.
The head of the agency emphasized that the current work is aimed at creating a unified transport hub that will integrate the airport, railways, and road routes. This, in turn, should significantly increase the logistical capacity of the country and simplify the process of transporting goods and passengers.
