Not far from the secret military base "Zone 52" in Nevada, where nuclear tests were conducted, a series of earthquakes occurred. These tremors coincided with the start of a military operation by the United States and Israel against Iran, as reported by the British newspaper Daily Mail.

According to the Daily Mail, a "series of mysterious earthquakes" was recorded in the area associated with nuclear testing. Seismic activity was noted at the testing range in Nevada, which also houses the more well-known site "Zone 51." The newspaper also pointed out that these earthquakes could be the result of normal geological activity in the region.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), 16 earthquakes with a magnitude of over 2.5 occurred in this area within the last 24 hours. Over the past week, seismologists recorded more than a hundred tremors with magnitudes ranging from 1.0 to over 3.0. The publication emphasizes that these events began simultaneously with the U.S. and Israeli attack on Iran at the end of February 2026.

On the morning of February 28, Israel and the United States began strikes against Iran. Donald Trump announced the intention to destroy the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic.

In response, Iran began launching strikes on the territory of Israel and other countries in the Middle East where U.S. military facilities are located. The strikes were aimed at Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai (UAE), as well as Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

As a result of the U.S.-Israeli operation, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed. His wife, Mansure Khodjasteh, also died from her injuries.

Donald Trump stated that military actions in Iran would last about four weeks. A jihad against the U.S. and Israel was declared in Iran, and authorities emphasized that there would be no negotiations.

The situation in the Middle East is affecting the entire world, including Kyrgyzstan. Currently, thousands of tourists are stranded due to the conflict in the UAE. Contact information for embassies and consulates for Kyrgyz citizens abroad can be found here.
