According to Al Mayadeen, Iran insists on receiving guarantees from the United States to avoid a recurrence of war and also demands recognition of its right to a complete nuclear cycle and compensation payments. These demands are corroborated by other publications referencing Al Mayadeen.

Similar demands have been voiced before. In July 2025, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran is ready to continue nuclear negotiations with the U.S. only if reliable guarantees against potential attacks are provided. Reuters also reported that Iran does not plan to halt uranium enrichment and considers security to be a crucial condition for initiating dialogue.

At this time, the negotiation process between Washington and Tehran remains in question. According to Reuters, following the strikes carried out by the U.S. and Israel on Iranian facilities, the Iranian parliament announced that negotiations with the U.S. would not continue until preliminary conditions are met.
