U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran could face complete destruction of its energy infrastructure, as reported by CNN.

“We are capable of striking Tehran and other regions, which would make the country's recovery virtually impossible. This is not what we want. However, we can attack the power grid — in one hour we could destroy their electrical system, and it would take them 25 years to recover. Ideally, we do not intend to do this,” Trump emphasized.

Meanwhile, U.S. actions are causing discontent among opponents of the Iranian regime. According to the Financial Times, the Iranian opposition no longer supports U.S. attacks on their country.

After the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei as a result of joint strikes by the U.S. and Israel, some Iranians hoped that this would lead to a change of power. However, the intense bombings, destruction, and the deaths of more than a thousand civilians quickly changed public opinion. Many, even those who had protested, were shocked by the destruction and began to doubt that external military intervention could change anything.

“We shouldn't have been bombed,” shared a young Iranian woman after an explosion near her home.

“This is our city, our country. How come there was a peaceful regime change in Venezuela, but not here?” Against the backdrop of military actions, a sense of national unity and fear of the country's disintegration has intensified among parts of society. As a result, many Iranians, who previously wanted a change of power at any cost, are now speaking about the importance of peace and stability, even if reforms occur from within the system.

What else is happening?

According to Reuters, U.S. intelligence does not observe signs of an imminent fall of the ayatollahs' power in Iran, despite nearly two weeks of strikes.

Sources claim that most analysts conclude that the Iranian leadership still controls the situation and the population. One source noted that intelligence reports contain “consistent analysis showing that the regime is not on the verge of collapse.”

Thus, finding an acceptable solution to exit the war may prove difficult if Iranian leaders remain in power.

Additionally, sources indicate that the Iranian leadership remains cohesive, even after the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Israeli officials at closed meetings have also emphasized the lack of confidence that the war will lead to the fall of the ayatollahs' power.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei was injured as a result of a U.S. strike but is feeling fine.

In the past 24 hours, Iran attacked six commercial vessels in the Persian Gulf, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).

Three of these ships sustained serious damage, and one person was killed. Since the start of the conflict, Iran has already attacked 13 commercial vessels in the area.

A missile hit an Italian military base in Erbil, Iraq, as reported by the Italian Ministry of Defense. The military had to take shelter in a bunker, and there were no casualties, according to Al Jazeera.

Earlier, a U.S. base in the region was also attacked using drones.

The girls' school building in Iran, which was struck during the U.S. and Israeli military operation, may have been mistakenly identified as a military facility, The Washington Post reports, citing informed sources.

According to one informant, the building was identified as a factory and approved as a target for the strike. A second source reported that there was a weapons depot near the school; however, it is unclear whether the strike was accidental or if U.S. military targeted it deliberately based on incorrect intelligence.

Two Israeli officials denied any involvement of the IDF in this strike, stating that this target was not discussed with the Israeli army. Two sources confirmed to the publication that a preliminary Pentagon investigation indicates that the responsibility for the strike on the school lies with the U.S.

According to state media, drones attacked Kuwait International Airport.

The country's state news agency, citing the Civil Aviation Authority, reported that several drones struck the airport.

In a message on X, it was specified that the attack caused “material damage, but no one was injured.”
