As a result of the attacks in the Black Sea, the tankers Delta Harmony, Matilda, and Delta Supreme were damaged. The first two vessels were chartered for transporting oil from Kazakhstan. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries among the crew.
In its statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed "serious concern" regarding the incidents related to drone attacks.
“During emergency meetings with ambassadors from several European countries and in cooperation with representatives from the United States and other international partners, we emphasized the need for effective measures to enhance the security of hydrocarbon transportation, especially on maritime routes, in accordance with international law,” the statement noted.
The Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that the republic does not participate in armed conflicts and actively contributes to strengthening energy security at both global and European levels by ensuring stable supplies of energy resources. The tankers had all the necessary permits and appropriate identification equipment.
“The increase in such incidents indicates growing risks to international energy infrastructure. We urge our partners to closely cooperate in developing joint measures aimed at preventing similar situations in the future,” the ministry added.
The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has already faced similar problems. For instance, on the morning of November 29, 2025, an attack by drones damaged the offshore mooring facility. CPC facilities were also targeted by drones on the night of November 25, with no casualties reported.
On September 24, 2025, a drone damaged the office of the marine terminal in Novorossiysk. On February 17, an attack involving seven drones resulted in the failure of the "Kropotkinskaya" pumping station, one of the key elements of the oil transportation system.
