In Thailand, a boat sank with citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic on board. Comment from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On the morning of January 11, a sightseeing boat named Korawich Marine 888 collided with a fishing vessel in Phuket. There were 55 people on board, including 52 tourists and three crew members.

According to information from TASS, after the collision, the boat sustained serious hull damage and sank.

The Consul General in the Thai province, Yegor Ivanov, reported that among the passengers were 33 Russians, as well as citizens of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and other countries. Unfortunately, as a result of the incident, a Russian woman born in 2008 lost her life.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic confirmed that two citizens of the country were on board the boat, and the embassy in Malaysia has already made contact with them.

According to available information, the Kyrgyz nationals did not sustain any bodily injuries, and their condition is assessed as satisfactory. They declined medical assistance and hospitalization.

The embassy continues to maintain contact with the citizens and is monitoring the situation. According to preliminary data, their return to Kyrgyzstan is scheduled for January 15.
