At the parliamentary meeting, Gulya Kozhokulova raised an important issue regarding the growing threat posed by synthetic drugs among minors.
She pointed out a troubling trend where more and more children aged 12 to 16 are becoming involved in the illegal drug trade, creating serious dangers.
The deputy noted that while the work of law enforcement and special services is yielding positive results, the prosecutor's office must be more actively involved in the fight against drug crime and not remain on the sidelines in addressing this problem.
Kozhokulova emphasized: “We see a grim picture where minors, including schoolchildren, are becoming participants in the distribution of synthetic drugs. It is like a disease that spreads like cancer with metastases.”
She called for immediate and comprehensive measures from the government that should unite the efforts of law enforcement agencies, special services, the prosecutor's office, as well as the Ministries of Education and Health.
In her opinion, all state structures must actively participate in systematic work to prevent and combat drug crimes among youth.
Kozhokulova also noted that the consequences of using synthetic drugs can be particularly severe for the growing generation. In this regard, she recommended that the prosecutor's office expand its powers and focus on monitoring the situation among minors, rather than limiting itself to fighting corruption or overseeing businesses.
“There is an impression that there is a targeted effort to involve youth in addiction to synthetic drugs. This issue should become a priority of state policy,” the deputy stated.
