According to the General Prosecutor's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, in the Sverdlovsk district of Bishkek, 32 criminal cases concerning drug-related crimes were initiated in 2025. This accounts for 0.75% of the total number of registered crimes.
This figure shows a decrease compared to last year, when this percentage was 2.78%. Out of the 32 cases initiated under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic "Illegal production of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their analogs for the purpose of sale," 22 cases were sent to court involving 17 suspects, while 7 cases are still under investigation.
Regarding Article 283 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic "Illegal production of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their analogs without the purpose of sale," 10 cases were initiated, of which 5 cases were forwarded to court involving 5 individuals, while the remaining 5 are still under investigation.
It is noteworthy that young people are increasingly becoming involved in drug-related crimes, using internet platforms to distribute narcotic substances through so-called "stash" methods.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Sverdlovsk district is actively working to prevent such crimes, collaborating with local government and law enforcement agencies. Meetings and round tables are being held to inform the youth.
The Prosecutor's Office reminds that serious criminal penalties are provided for drug distribution, including imprisonment and confiscation of property.
