The first day of trilateral negotiations between Russia, the USA, and Ukraine has concluded in Abu Dhabi, with continuation expected on Saturday. This was reported by "Ukrainian Truth," citing a high-ranking representative of the White House and the agency "Suspilne."

As noted by the source, the first day of negotiations was "productive," and the participants agreed to continue discussions the next day.

The head of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, previously announced the start of the trilateral negotiations. The ministry clarified that meetings are scheduled for January 23 and 24.

According to information from DW, citing TASS, the negotiations are being conducted in strict confidentiality: the location of the meeting is kept secret, and the participation of media representatives is not provided for. One of the agency's sources reported that this arrangement is maintained, and large hotels have not heard about the negotiations, nor is there any increased patrolling observed near the hotels and the presidential palace.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this meeting on Thursday, expressing hope for its effectiveness in terms of ending hostilities.

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Vladimir Putin and Zelensky are showing readiness to reach an agreement on resolving the conflict.

The Axios portal, citing sources, reported that one of the key issues on the agenda of the trilateral working group on security will be the topic of territorial issues.
