Last week, on Thursday, the Philippine Embassy in Beijing issued a statement warning its citizens in Mongolia about the activities of illegal recruiters. An important point was that converting a tourist visa or using visa-free entry to obtain a work visa is strictly prohibited. This information was published in MiddleAsianNews.
The embassy clarified that the visa-free regime, valid for 21 days, is intended solely for tourism purposes, and attempts to seek employment under this program are considered illegal.
“Do not trust intermediaries who promise an easy conversion of your visa upon arrival. This is a scam and a violation of the law. You risk being deported and losing your money,” the embassy warns.
Furthermore, the diplomatic mission emphasized that Filipinos wishing to work in Mongolia must first secure a labor contract and obtain a work visa in their home country before traveling.
“If you intend to work, you need to prepare a contract and a work visa in the Philippines before heading to Mongolia. Do not let yourself be deceived. Follow the law,” the statement added.
