The chief physician of the Capital Emergency Medical Center, Iskender Shayahmetov, reported that the shortage of ambulance doctors in Bishkek has decreased by almost three times.

According to him, by presidential decree, salaries were increased in 2025 not only for ambulance doctors in Bishkek and Osh but also for surgeons, pediatricians, and specialists working in remote areas.

“Previously, out of 210 medical vacancies, 98 remained unfilled, but after the salary increase of 20,000 soms, this number has decreased to 32. This is indeed an impressive result — the shortage of doctors has significantly reduced,” he noted.

In addition, Shayahmetov mentioned that a new salary increase of 100% for all medical workers in the country is expected starting from April 1.
