Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and UNDP Discussed Partnership and Development of International Procurement Mechanisms

On February 19, 2026, a meeting took place between the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kanibek Dosmambetov, and Alexandra Solovyova, the UN Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in the country.

During the discussion, the parties emphasized key areas of cooperation that align with the priorities for the development of the healthcare system until 2030. Important topics included strengthening institutional foundations, developing human resources, digitalization of medical services, and enhancing the resilience of the entire healthcare system in the republic.

The development of mechanisms for international procurement of medicines and medical devices through the UN became one of the central issues of the conversation. The participants discussed further steps for joint work with UNDP aimed at organizing centralized procurement, which will ensure access to quality medications at reasonable prices and increase the transparency and efficiency of the procurement process.
