The UN Secretary-General and the Regional Director of WHO for the European Region signed an action plan for 2026-2027.

Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held a meeting with Hans Henri P. Kluge, Regional Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) for Europe.

According to information provided by the OTS, the meeting concluded with the signing of an action plan for 2026–2027, aimed at implementing the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the two organizations.

During the dialogue, key areas for further cooperation were discussed, such as enhancing preparedness for health emergencies, developing digital technologies in the healthcare sector, strengthening institutional and human resources, and supporting environmentally sustainable healthcare facilities.

The action plan that was signed aims to deepen collaboration to improve the healthcare systems of member countries and enhance sanitary and epidemiological safety. It also includes measures for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, support for healthy aging policies, and initiatives to reduce the negative impact of climate change on citizens' health.

This document creates a clear and consistent framework for implementing joint activities in the medium term and ensures the continuity of strategic cooperation between the OTS and the European office of the WHO.
