The correspondent of Turmush reports that there are approximately 348-349 doctors working in the region as a whole; however, their distribution across the territory, geographical features, and the lack of stable working conditions complicate the situation.
Currently, steps are being taken to attract and retain doctors in the region, with an emphasis on creating comfortable living conditions for young specialists. Solving the housing issue is seen as one of the most effective ways to increase the region's attractiveness for medical workers.
Conditions Created for Medical Workers
- A dormitory for 28 places has been opened in Naryn, at the regional hospital.
- The construction of a dormitory for doctors with 8 places has been completed in the Ak-Tal district.
- The At-Bashinsky district received a dormitory for medical workers, built with funds amounting to 2 million 800 thousand soms.
- In the Jumgal district, 11 million 48 thousand soms have been allocated for the construction of a dormitory for doctors.
Experts note that ongoing support in such areas will help attract young doctors to the region and encourage their long-term work in local facilities.
The State of Healthcare in the Naryn Region
Currently, the region has:
- 1 regional hospital,
- 1 Family Medicine Center,
- 4 district centers for medical practice,
- 48 family doctor groups,
- 80 feldsher-midwifery points.
- In medical institutions:
- the number of doctors is 348,
- the number of nursing staff (nurses) is 1,521.
“Thus, the need for medical personnel in the Naryn region remains significant. However, with improvements in housing conditions, social support, and material provision, it is possible to realistically reduce the shortage of doctors,” the report states.
