A new 110/35/10 kV substation 'Suu-Bashy' has been put into operation in the city of Batken

During his working trip to the Batken region, the Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, Talaybek Ibraev, officially opened a new high-voltage substation 110/35/10 kV named 'Suu-Bashy', located in the city of Batken.

At the launch of this energy facility, T. Ibraev emphasized that the number of electricity users is growing every year, making it necessary to increase capacities and generation. He noted: "Dear participants of the event! As you know, several projects for the construction of substations and the reconstruction of hydro units of major hydropower plants were implemented in 2025, as well as small hydropower plants and solar power stations were launched. The number of electricity consumers is increasing every year. We are witnessing the growth of large residential complexes and factories. In this regard, increasing generation is a necessity of our time. Each new substation plays a key role in providing electricity to the population. This substation will also serve the people. We must continue to develop and strive to provide the population with light and warmth," said the minister.

The service area of the 'Suu-Bashy' substation is 500 square meters. The implementation of the project was made possible through the joint efforts of the JSC 'NESC' and the Batken city administration. The total cost of the project amounted to 55 million 758 thousand soms, of which:

• 19 million 958 thousand soms were allocated for the purchase of additional materials by the Batken Electric Networks Enterprise.

• The Batken city administration allocated 35 million 800 thousand soms for equipment.

• Construction work was carried out by the Batken Electric Networks Enterprise.

The Ministry of Energy reported that the new substation will provide stable and quality electricity supply for the following facilities: the village of Jangy-Dostuk, the industrial zone, the residential area 'Batken City', a new stadium for 10,000 seats, residential houses in the Che-Bulak quarter, the village of Buzhum, the under-construction Russian school with the support of the Russian Federation, as well as 2,224 residential houses.

In addition, this important energy facility will supply the following substations:

• Kara-Bulak 35/10 kV;

• Kara-Tokoy-1 35/10 kV;

• Kara-Tokoy-2 35/10 kV;

• Shirech 35/10 kV.

The substation is connected to a new 110 kV overhead power line 'Aigul-Tash – Central', which is located 150 meters from it.

During the event, the Batken Electric Networks Enterprise was provided with vehicles and special equipment to enhance production capacities and improve operational response to emergency situations:

• 3 JAC N 8 vehicles;

• 1 JAC N56 vehicle;

• 1 SHANMON excavator.

These new vehicles will assist energy workers in their daily operations, improve the quality of electric network services, and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply for the residents of the region.

Additionally, T. Ibraev held a meeting with the employees of the Batken Electric Networks Enterprise, during which proposals were reviewed and current issues regarding the state of the energy sector, working conditions, and its development were discussed. The minister answered the employees' questions and gave instructions on addressing the raised issues.
