The general contractor for the work is the Chinese company CNEEC (China National Electric Engineering Co. Ltd.).
Preparatory and engineering activities for both units have already begun. The launch of the reconstruction of the second hydro unit is scheduled for February 1, and the first — for March 1 of this year.




According to the company, work is currently underway on hydro unit No. 2 for welding the stator rods and assembling the rotor spokes using defectoscopic control. At the same time, project and technical preparations for hydro unit No. 1 are ongoing.
All work will be carried out according to the established schedule, adhering to all technical requirements and safety standards, the company assures.
The parallel reconstruction of the hydro units will ensure a phased increase in the installed capacity of the station. As a result of the completion of the reconstruction by the end of 2025, the capacity of the Uch-Kurgan HPP will increase by 18 MW, and by the end of 2026, the total increase will amount to 36 MW.
