In the Kyrgyz Republic, citizens are deceived by promises of healing with dietary supplements, which are not medications

The leading folk healers use certain herbal mixtures that are actually dietary supplements (DS), not medications. This information was announced by the head of the licensing department of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Aman Osmonov, during the "Elden Sobol" program of the Kabar agency.

According to Osmonov, fraudsters mislead people by presenting dietary supplements as medications and promising complete healing. He noted that for a dietary supplement to be recognized as a medicinal product, it must undergo a series of scientific trials and be registered. This includes testing on animals and humans.

The specialist also added that before importing dietary supplements into the country, they are subject to laboratory analysis to verify their composition and effectiveness. Such supplements can only be used after obtaining a certificate of state registration.

“I recommend that citizens carefully check the information, ensure the presence of licenses, and the legality of the practices of such healers before consulting them,” concluded Aman Osmonov.
