The department reminded about financial responsibility
The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration of Kyrgyzstan has officially announced the introduction of stricter measures of accountability for employers in accordance with the updated Labor Code.
According to the new rules, a unified rate of financial responsibility for delayed wages has been introduced in the country. Now, for each day of delay in the payment of wages, vacation pay, or severance pay, the employer will have to pay a penalty of 0.25% of the debt.
Another important innovation has been introduced — the statute of limitations, which now stands at three years. Employees can go to court regarding unpaid wages starting from the date when the payment was due.
The ministry is convinced that these measures will help improve discipline in the labor market and guarantee the protection of citizens' financial interests.
