Kyrgyzstan has achieved significant success in obtaining economic preferences within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This was announced at a press conference at the "Kabar" agency by Elimbek Kanybek uulu, head of the EAEU coordination department of the Ministry of Economy of the KR. At the initiative of Kyrgyzstan, tariff preferences have been introduced for several strategically important goods, allowing their import without paying customs duties.

One of the most notable decisions for citizens has been the exemption of duties on the import of frozen beef (bone-in). Until the end of 2026, the country will be able to import 5,000 tons of meat duty-free, whereas previously importers were required to pay 15% of the product's value. A similar measure has been adopted for raw sugar: until the end of 2026, there are preferences for a quota of 20,000 tons, which should help stabilize sugar prices in the domestic market.

The preferences also apply to the manufacturing sector. The republic will be able to import 300 tons of cocoa butter duty-free annually until the end of 2028, which will support the confectionery industry. Additionally, for three years, duties on special means for processing textiles and leather have been abolished, which is important for local producers. In the aviation sector, the EEC Council has granted Kyrgyzstan the opportunity to import two additional passenger turboprop aircraft without paying duties. This decision is aimed at renewing the aircraft fleet and developing regional air transportation, making flights within the country and to neighboring states more accessible.
